Music Review: disappointment

I am not really sure what I epected from this set. I ordered it, thinking I would get a few songs I liked in REALLY good quality, and , get some undiscovered gems. I really didn't get much of either. The sound quality, is good, not great, but the unknown material, is, for the most part, unknown, because it really isn't very good. The song choices are poor, and not even representative, of great undiscovered work, by a known artist. An Example, is Tracey Dey. For some odd reason, instead of using one of her minor hits, the used the B side to Sherry, which is not really very good. I am a BIG fan of Tracey D', and definitely could have comeup with several other choices. MArcie Blane, Who truly was a one hit wonder, because most of her other work was not up to the same standards, they picked a song, it seems, becuae it was written by a young Neil Diamond. A better choice would have been her other minor hit, "What Does A Girl do", or one of my favorites, "You Gave My Number To Billy".
The Liner notes are even a bit frustrating, mentioning superior songs, but hten the collection has something else, and not of as good quality.
My main deciding factor for by this, was to Get a Stereo version of I Can Never Go Home" by the Shangri-Las, in True Stereo. If the version here, is the best that can be come up with, Mr Spector may be right in going "Back To Mono". I am a collector, of oldies, hits and non hits. I
Guess this set is worth the 15 bucks I spent on it, but I am not sure I would truly recommend it.
