Music Review: Great sound but too short. Where's the rest of the show?

This CD has great sound quality and is an important document in the career of Thin Lizzy (the final US tour of the classic lineup). Its a welcome companion to 'Live and Dangerous' but I have one question: where's the rest of the show? This CD is very short on running time and is probably slightly less than half of the show. Lizzy headlined the Tower and should have played for nearly 90 minutes. So, if they weren't playing a shortened opening-act set, then why wasn't the remainder of their performance included? A missed opportunity but, other than that, its an excellent addition to your live Lizzy collection.

Full title: Still Dangerous: Live at Tower Theatre Philadelphia 1977. 2009 live archive release from the Irish rockers led by the late, great Phil Lynott. Still Dangerous marks another stellar live release from Lizzy with this one recorded live from the legendary Tower Theatre in Philadelphia. While Lizzy's Live And Dangerous, released in 1978, remains one of the greatest live albums of all time, it's no secret that there were substantial studio overdubs thus tarnishing that 'live` feel. Still Dangerous has absolutely no enhancements and is raw and uncompromising to say the least. 'Soldier Of Fortune' opens the proceedings, and while not firing out of the gates, it showcases Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham's trademark harmonies perfectly. Their hit 'The Boys Are Back In Town' was just about ready to break in the US back in 1977 and is appropriately aired in all its glory here. The guitars swirl over Phil Lynott's throbbing bass lines while the crowd lifts up the chorus. Still Dangerous is the real deal that further solidifies Thin Lizzy as one of the greatest live bands ever. 10 tracks. 2009.Arena Rock CDs
