Music Review: 4 years later and we are still playing it!

When our daughter was 3 years old, we moved and we bought this CD for all of us to listen to on the drive. It was an instant hit. 4 years later and we are still playing it and enjoying it. Our now 7 year old still finds it funny, but can appreciate even more of the silly, offbeat humor of the lyrics/songs. My husband and I, already huge fans, we not disappointed in the slightest. Catchy tunes, clever lyrics... Now, we have our 18 month old hooked. "E eats Everything" is still one of our all time favorites and the kids both think it is a riot. "F is for Fake Believe"... I mean, come on, how can you not love a song that can incorporate Little Lord Fountleroy into a song... and make it amusing enough for a 7 year old to want to Google it!? This is a terrific, fun, enjoy life type of CD... you can put it on in the car and everyone can sing along or put it on your Ipod and dance like loons in the basement.

However, as is their charming way, the two Johns (Flansburgh and Linnell), use the letters as merely the connective tissue, allowing them to pursuit intriguing flights of fancy that consider everything from the relative power of letters and sounds to animal hijinks. Just as they've always done, there are wistful ballads and high octane rockers.
