Music Review: Two of the Best Songs Not yet Mentioned

This album snuck up and kicked my can but good the first time I heard it. I was doing something else entirely and just happily chugging along to the catchy tunes until I started listening to the lyrics of "Twisting" and catching up with the double meanings. "She wants to see you again/ Slowly twisting in the wind." After that I was hooked. Forever. I will probably never get over how good this album is from beginning to end.
Also- did I miss this, but has no-one mentioned "Your Racist Friend"?!? Excellent venting tune! Really purges the sound of bigotry from one's cringing ears.
It is bouncy, absurd and fun, but "Flood" is no trifling bit of fluff. There's some heavy stuff mixed in with the madness.
Description of Flood
TMBG has always been a great reason for math and computer science majors to add a real rock album to their collection of John Williams and Weird Al records--and Flood is a bacchanalian celebration of dorkiness. Lifting off from their previous album, Lincoln, which was a sort of transitional hit-or-miss, Flood is a soaring, catchy sing-along album destined for people who love quoting Monty Python sketches. Try not singing the words to "Particle Man," "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)," or "Birdhouse in your Soul." (Apparently, "Particle Man" was so catchy that the song was later used as a sing-along in a cartoon show for children.)
