Music Review: The Blues?
Rating: 3 Stars
This band works very hard at creating an attitude, probably even more at that then writing a song.
Unfortunately, creating a parody of Led Zep blues numbers doesn't make for a good album.
Her snarly aggression just doesn't hit the decible for me beyond perhaps reminding me of something between Janis Joplin karaoke and Japanese Anime.
(And is it just me but do the photo shoots have Jack looking like Sigourney Weaver's grandson?)
This band looks the part, but doesn't deliver.
Description of Horehound
The Dead Weather is fronted by Alison Mosshart (known to music fans as one half of London-based rock outfit The Kills) and includes The Raconteurs' Jack Lawrence on bass, Queens Of The Stone Age member Dean Fertita on guitar and Jack White on drums and vocals. White produced Horehound, which was recorded in just three weeks at the newly constructed Third Man Studio, also designed from the ground up by Jack White.General CDs
