Music Review: Essential indie NZ music

A not-to-be-missed compilation of early tracks (80's) and later songs (1990's) from the world-famous-in-NZ band, the Clean. Starting out in small town, bottom-of-the-world New Zealand, these guys rocked my dazed and confused teenage brain in the mid to late eighties, and their sound still exhilarates two decades on, from quirky, catchy pop numbers to trawling, droney psychedelic rock instrumentals and much in between. If you haven't listened to the Clean here's a good place to start, including most of their early eps and classic album 'Boodle Boodle Boodle', right through a large part of their 90's catalogue. These guys have been name dropped by bands such as Pavement, Yo la Tengo, Sonic Youth. Listen and see why. 'Great sounds Great...'!!!
