Music Review: Great compilation, and great starting point for those who want to get into The Cars

I actually grew up listening to this collection of hit songs from a great band, not realizing that they had put out many albums prior. Hey, I was like 6 - 9, and didn't know much about music back then. One of my dad's old girlfriends had this on audio tape, and I remember when my dad and her hung out, this was pretty much a standby. So needless to say, this collection holds alot of meaning to me, as it pretty much was the music of my childhood.
I will say this, nowadays I view this as a starting point for those who want to introduce folks to The Cars, and their wonderful and still unique and fresh sound that influenced many a musician today. Every song on here was indeed a hit for them, and while it's missing several songs that were hits, there is something for everyone here regardless.
This collection kicks off with "Just What I Needed" which was argueably their biggest hit, and a great song to get things going. From there, it's one good song after another. Some of my favorites being "Good Times Roll", "Touch and Go", and the then new song "Tonight She Comes" which was previously unreleased on any album of theirs. Brilliant if I say so myself, because this song is one of my favorites from The Cars to date. Then towards the end, "Let's Go" and easily one of my favorite songs of all time "Magic", that song is ten shades of awesome with it's catchy keyboard hook, and the chorus line that makes one think of a summer romance.
I would give a break down of each track, but for me to do that would probably take forever to do. So to sum things up, it's a great collection still, and a great starting point for those who really want to get into The Cars, but don't know where to start. Eventually I'll get the Complete Greatest Hits, but considering this had me waxing nostalgic, and the price tag was a total selling point for me, it's still a wonderful collection, even if it's not as complete as some of the others. You really can't go wrong with it.
