Music Review: great grooves, sweet playing

If you like funk, this is a great recording to pick up. A more modern influence in the way the drums are mixed, but overall very vintage sounding, and the band is amazing. Great hooks, fat beats, and tasty solos...what's not to like?
Description of Soul Donkey
SOUL DONKEY, the Sugarman Three's sophomore release on Desco Records, documented a first turn towards the more raw funk sound into which the band would later fully embrace on Daptone's PURE CANE SUGAR. As an album, it has a sound and a vibe and has been sought after by collectors and fans alike since it went out of print around the turn of the millenium.Try it on. It feels good.
