Music Review: Great Compliation of the Extras in Sublime's Archives

I have to say that at first I didn't really enjoy all 60 tracks on the 3 CDs, but after some time (around a year), 90% of them have grown on me. There are too many good tracks to name, and there are so many interesting tracks that I had never even heard of, or knew that Sublime had sampled them. I would have to say that this Box Set is really mostly for the hardcore Sublime fans. I bought the MP3 album, so I didn't get the DVD with it, so I can't really comment on the DVD, although I have seen most of the videos from it and it looks amazing. I especially like the one when he goes Don't Push/Garden Grove/Right Back/New Thrash. Leaving Babylon is also an amazing song that they covered.
Sadly, this will probably be the last Sublime release with any new material ever. Unless they really dig through those Bootlegs again and pull out the rare gems like 100 Weight of Collie Weed and Party at Ground Zero/Pass Me the Lazerbeam (full version), Rawhide, Dauchau Cabana, and various others I may be forgetting, there will not be another release with new and exciting material.
A lot of people complained that there wasn't "everything under the sun" on this CD, but I find it a wonderful compilation and it has some songs that are just amazing in their raw forms. It is real music, the way it used to be played. I'm assuming most of the rarities on this boxset were created before they signed with MCA. They were very passionate and very talented, and even though they were intoxicated most of the time, by one substance or another, they still rocked out and were an amazing band. Bradley stole the show, but Bud and Eric made their mark as well. They are also very talented and it was pure coincidence that they ever even got together. Bud and Eric were childhood friends, but when Brad got there, they just developed a sound that will never be duplicated, not by Rome, not by any other band. To be succinct, they were Sublime.
