Music Review: Amazing Hardcore

If I ever have a heart attack, it will likely be while listening to this album. This is what you get when you mix a hardcore punk band with modern metal production--extremely intense, heavy, angry hardcore. Having received a little help from members of Sepultura, Fear Factory and the Deftones, this album will appeal to the thrash and punk crowds alike. Strife's live performances following this release were just as amazing as the album. Their show in Denver was one of the best hardcore concerts I have seen or heard (and I've been to hundreds). I was amazed to see that the band was a bunch of lanky jockish kids. They reproduced the intensity found on this album perfectly while throwing their guitars around like Spinal Tap and with the singer often crouched down, pounding his fists on the stage while barking into the microphone.
As can be expected with the best albums, the follow-up, "Angermeans," is terrible. Strife gave it their all for this one. A must for any hardcore and thrash collection.
