Music Review: Two very different 'faces'
Rating: 5 Stars

This 2-disk set was not quite what I thought I was expecting. Each disk is so different. The first, IMO, is the better of the two because it is so varied. Tres Moricas and La Spagna certainly took me, pleasantly, by surprise. The Moorish and Jewish pieces are definitely earcatching while the other, European, pieces are no musical slouches either. All in all, a very nice mix. Disk 2 is a lot less varied, but then the program is more homogenous, so I can understand not wanting to 'mix things up' and deviate from the overall feeling. All performances, both disks, are IMO masterful and anyone who likesmusic of this period will certainly NOT be disappointed. There are other things I can add, but then... this is about discovery... That goes for the listener as well, so I won't give away the ending! Two thumbs up.
