Music Review: One of the Best Jazz Albums

I purchased this album around 1970. The cover caught my attention so I picked it up to see what songs were included. Several were familiar so I bought it. Neither the front or back covers listed the names of the performers. When I opened the album the only name I recognized was Herbie Hancock. Last year I searched the internet for more information about it. I discovered that Herbie Mann was one of the flute players (flautist) for this album but was not credited because he was under contract with another record company at the time, not A&M that produced this album (SP 3009) in 1968. It is probably my favorite album of any genre I own. I resisted playing it because I did not want to wear it out. I also searched the internet to see if this album was available on CD and could not find one. So, I had it recorded onto a CD, imported it into iTunes on my computer and made a copy for myself. Now I can enjoy the album without the fear of my original vinyl disc being ruined which is in excellent condition according to the person who digitized it for me.
