Music Reviews of Somewhere In Time: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackMusic Review: Somewhere in Time Rating: 5 Stars
We usually travel to Mackinaw Island once a year and stay at the Grand Hotel where this movie was filmed. There are no cars allowed, just horse and buggies and bicycles, so it really feels like a trip back in time. The movie and music, esp. the music, makes the whole experience perfect. It is a beautiful love story between two beautiful people...unrequited love!....could it be more perfect?
Music Review: Music Is Almost Like A Main Character Rating: 5 Stars
When watching the film "Somewhere In Time", a single strain of music is used throughout the film. Though that strain may be modified depending on the time and place, the theme is one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever heard. It is definitely worth a few bucks to purchase this CD, if only to hear that one haunting, inspiring theme over and over again to remind yourself of the film.
Music Review: Deffinitely beautiful... Rating: 4 Stars
THough I have not yet seen this film, the music is classic and very soothing. Pieces such as "Somewhere in Time:Main THeme" Are very memorable, while some of the other are more backround music than anything else. However this is perfect for putting on while you're working on projects and the like.
Very soothing and refreashing, Somewhere in time is a classic worth listening to!
Music Review: The music will stay with you forever Rating: 5 Stars
I can still remember trying to find the ALBUM after I saw the movie. It would instantly have me in tears for years after. Even now, 18 years later, when I listen to the cassette, I know exactly what rifts of music went with what scenes of the movie. John Barry probably had no clue of the "timelessness" of his soundtrack. It is his best work in my opinion. Go, John!!!
Music Review: A haunting tale of love... Rating: 5 Stars
The film itself was beautiful, but the music was breathtaking. Somewhere in Time is an exquisite piece of music. Each note is filled with sadness and forgotten joy. The notes together paint a haunting and melancholy scene of love lost. This CD will bring tears to your eyes and remind you of beautiful, but long forgotten memories of love and the happiness that comes with it .
