Music Review: When Broken is Easily Fixed...

"The end begins...in my eyes...in my heart, I have layed upon a deadman's bed." Now lets be honest here...thats a decent set of lyrics. Ok so out of Ontario, Canada comes out another amazing Hardcore Emo Band that already features the likes of Alexisonfire, Boys Night Out and Moneen (If you dont know any of these bands then check them out...or i might have to call you a poser :P) Despite what some may believe the lyrical content so neatly packaged inside this screaming array of emo is somewhat decent. Yes there might be the odd song that is slightly weak and has a kinda dashboard-esque air to them, but overall the lyrically quality is decent. The thing that makes their lyrics good, is the quality of the vocals. I dont care what anybody says listne to this album and you will see just how much emotion this guy packs into every scream...bam...the lyrics just got a whole lot better. Now i must say...instrumentally this band reminds me alot of thrice, but with their own unique style. So back to the screaming. In the song Bleeds No More not only is the opening line My Heart Bleeds no more, screamed, but a short sample comes on in the middle/end of the song of a girl saying "you are the worst thing that ever happened to me" Followed by a lengthy emotion filled raw sounding scream of sheer brilliance. The whole 15$ or whatever you paid for it (i think i paid 25 or something) is completely worth it for that one scream. Overall this album actually scores a 5 star rating from me. Its solid the whole way through,and although their might not be a big variance in lyrics, the overall sound has a great range which SHOWS that emo and hardcore can mix in a homogeneous mixture. Anyways ijust want to say this is a great album you are no to be dissapointed. I want everyone to remember this is a DEBUT ALBUM. You cant get everything right the first time. Give them a chance, its damn good anyways probably my favorite hardcore emo album although killing tree and boys night out give it a damn good run for the money. Now tracks to check out are. Smashed into pieces, Bleeds No More, November, And The Weak and the Wounded, not to mention When broken is easily fixed.My final word is...get this...it really is good.
