Music Review: Amazing music and a great voice!

That's the feeling I get from listening to Si*Sé.

Granted, it's not like I discovered them. They have a growing cult following and their record has been out since 2001 (re-released by David Byrne's Luaka Bop in 2003). I didn't even find them myself, a friend told me about the band. But still, it's a great feeling I get from this group.

The CD is truly fresh and encapturing. The music is both soothing and exalting at the same time. It's a mixture of jazz, latin, techno, trance, ethnic and a whole other bunch of musical styles all fused together for a fantastic result. The voice of lead singer Carol C is simply hipnotizing. She is one of the best singers out there! The lyrics go from english to spanish and back, but they're all really good (albeit it not too profound). Heck, even the cover is gorgeous!

The best track, hands down, is 'Bizcocho amargo'. Other outstanding songs are 'Steppin' out', 'The rain (where do I begin)', the reggae influenced 'Burbuja', 'Dolemite' and 'Slip away'. And if you're from a Latinamerican country you'll be surprised to listen to 'Lullaby'!

Get it, you'll thank me for it!
