Music Review: Shinki Chen & Friends - self-titled (World Psychedelia)

Originally released in 1971, as I've looked around and this title appears to be this artist's sole record. Basically, just good all around Japanese psychedelia. Never even heard of this musician until in recent years when I started to listen to music by other like-Japanese bands - such as Acid Mothers Temple, Kawabata Makoto, Ruins, LSD March, etc. This self-titled CD is fun to hear - with tracks like "The Dark Sea Dream", "Requiem Of Confusion", the rocking "Gloomy Reflections" and the thirteen-minute Hendrix-like "Farewell To Hypocrites". Personnel: Shinki Chen (also been with Foodbrain and Speed, Glue & Shinki) - guitar, bass & piano, George Yanagi - bass & vocals, Hiro Yanagida - keyboards and Shinich Hogi - drums.
