These excerpts carry an intelligently concentrated dose of why Romeo and Juliet is one of Prokofiev's greatest masterpieces. The playing by the Cleveland Orchestra is above reproach and the interpretations given are perfectly feisty, sublime, and colorful for their respective moments.
