Music Review: Splashy Revival Makes Good...
Rating: 5 Stars
This splashy 80's revival of Wilson's "Boyfriend" works a treat. The beefed up chorus numbers allow the sugary score to be fully appreciated. Though Julie Andrew's is very good in the 1954 recording, this Sally seems more demure and very much a true "young lady". Accents are all convincing, and in the style of musical comedy, often slightly over done. Very funny with excellent comic timing. The tight musical direction and chorus work allows for a slick, taught product. Buy both and see for yourself.
