Music Review: THE PERFECT ALBUM

I believe that is one of the only albums I could give 5 STARS to without feeling guilty of the thought of somewhat lying to myself about--because the album is PERFECT. Rooney, in my opinion, is one of the best CD's of all time; it's actually my favorite CD. I listen to parts of it just about everyday. The California-surfer feel of the CD is the ultimate mood for an album. I got the CD over a year ago and STILL have not found a CD that lives up to half of what it is.
BLUESIDE -
This is a great way to start a CD--with lots of a power-pop sound
and different levels of sound.
STAY AWAY -
This may very well be my favorite song on the album. The hooks
are amazing and catchy, but the best part of it is, when I'm in a
depressed mood, it makes me smile and when I'm happy, it simply
makes me happier.
IF IT WERE UP TO ME -
This song is a bit on the soft-pop side (of which I normally
detest), but I cannot help loving this song.
I'M A TERRIBLE PERSON -
This song is basically the drama of a guy feeling depressed
because he knew that his girlfriend was about to find out that he
had not only read her diary, but had also told all of his friends
about what she had written in it. This is the classic case
of women dominating men...Which can be good when they do
something stupid like that.
POPSTARS -
More than likely this is my least favorite song on the CD, but
the ironic part of it is, if another band that I really liked had
this song, it would more than likely be my favorite song of
theirs--Rooney is just THAT GOOD. I also like the message this
song is trying to send--Britney and Justin are not everything,
rock 'n' roll should like on--through bands like Rooney.
I'M SHAKIN' -
I simply adore this song; I love the lyrics so much. This is one
of my favorites.
DAISY DUKE -
This is my favorite sound to one of their songs; it is extremely
sexy. The plot of the song is a little wrong though because he
was telling the girl in it that she was too young for him, so she
should obey whatever he said or he would not think twice before
dumping her. He was simply trying to make her feel inferior.
SORRY, SORRY -
This is a great song. This guy met a girl in a bar and he...
made her life miserable, so he told her that he was sorry. The
plot is too long to explain, but check it out.
THAT GIRL HAS LOVE -
That Girl... has a terribly sad plot, but a great hook. It is
about a guy who dated a girl who committed suicide and it went
through the story. Itis depressing, but I cannot help listening
to it even when I am in a happy mood.
SIMPLY BECAUSE -
A guy basically tells his girlfriend he cannot love her because
he...is not in love with her and she was always overdoing it with
him by trying to always be perfect.
LOSING ALL CONTROL -
The only mellow song on the whole album ("Popstars" is melody
driven). It's a low note to go out on, but it helps to not bounce
around and sing too much...People will not think you are AS
crazy...
