Rodney Jones fills many jobs as a guitarist, playing for the Rosie show is only one of them. Beyond his abilities as a working guitarist, Rodney Jones also may be the next step in the evolution of the jazz guitar. The "X" Field is one of the hippest jazz albums to come out in many years and the guitar playing is at times otherworldly. For those guitarists who wish to stretch their idea of how the guitar can be played and for those who wish to watch the progression of the jazz guitar, pick up this album.
