Music Review: Outstanding stuff, you can't put it down!

Someone below complained about the direction of the solos and not understanding what the point was. That person needs to relax, and not think so much. Just sit back and enjoy the music...it will take you away.

I found this album by walking up to a display, and putting on the headset. I had no idea who Rodney Jones was, or Idris Muhammed. I knew the name Maceo Parker, but that was it. Well, maybe 30 seconds into the album, I knew I had to have it. Its that good. I then made sure to fast forward the next few songs, to make sure this wasn't one of those CD's where the strongest cut is first, which happens to me sometimes.

Needless to say, I now own the CD. If you like upbeat, thumping music, you'll like it. If you like funky, swinging stuff, you'll like it. If you enjoy slow, smooth, mellow lines, you'll like it. The CD has it all.

Obviously, if you're some 'expert' snob jazz purist type, well, you may be able to logically deduce a flaw. Otherwise, us "regular" folks will enjoy the hell out of this fantastic CD.

Oh, and read the liner notes, and you'll understand where his solos are going.
