Music Review: Still the MOST cherishable Wagner disc!

This disc is a collectors item, for those who love Wagner and who love Bruno Walter.
The performance is stunning, powerfully intense and dramatic, as well it contains much warmth. The digital mastering of this old EMI still strikes me for its clarity, depth and audibility, it's like the music is jumping out at you!...(just compare the sound quality of this EMI to the Naxos release).
I'm not that impressed by the new re-issue of this on EMI, for some reason the sound doesn't strike me as it does on this EMI (not only that but the Act 2 is imcomplete).
I just love having this EMI of Walter's Act 1 on a single disc.
