Music Review: Male voices supreme

Owned this very same album in the mid 40s on 78 rpm, but with fewer songs. We knew Fields, Our Fields as "Meadowlands", and didn't hear the awe inspiring natioial anthem then. For choir singing, trust the Russians and the Welsh, the Russians even more vigorous due to the folk and military selections. Besides being history and a classic the album is worth the price if only for the Russian National Anthem. This is the old Soviet version, but same music as now under the Federation.
In spite of their problems, Russians remain passionately patriotic, the soul of old "mother Russia", and the music reflects this. For lovers of male choirs and colorful music of every mood, this has no equal.
