Music Review: Impatient

There are elements on every single one of these tunes that could work well. This is a 2-CD set, so that's saying a lot. But as soon as a song establishes a groove, the artist/producer/both decide to change pace. It's too bad. Best songs are easy to find -- the first (Plenty of Water for Mud) and last (Hiding Behind Waterfalls) on Disc 1. Quinn starts slow and the instruments and vocals slowly build. A song mentioned by another commenter, Smile for Me, follows the same successful formula but is too sleepy.
The next-to-last song on Disc 1, At the Party, In the Woods is representative of what is wrong here. It sets a rhythm, draws you in, then suddenly abandons it with some pounding nonsense in the middle of the "tune." Impatience. Hey, I'm not looking for beautiful music here, I just expect a song to make natural changes instead of inserting incongruous noise.
Overall it's an OK buy at used prices here on Amazon, but if I'd bought it new I'd be PO'd.
