Music Review: Queensryche's is EPIC

A few things jumped out at me in the first few listens.....In today's music guitar solos seem to be taboo. You won't find any on TRIBE either, at least not in the TRADITAONAL METAL JONRA THAT IS.
It's ironic that Chris plays on Tribe but Queensryche manages to shine so brightly without him and his solos...Is this done by design maybe? One of the many mysteries on this one.....Most of the album takes advantage of Mike's killer rhythms, Ed's driving bass, Scott's inspired drumming, and of course Tate's incredible vocals. Who needs Chris anyway? They have made a top Ryche album with very little from him....Sweet Irony Folks...

This is how I'm going to break it down so far from my own personal perspective....My personal thoughts on TRIBE the album...

The first song OPEN is classic Ryche all the way....OPEN YOUR EYES is how you should approach this album...Crank IT!!!

LOSING MY SELF is a great driving song. In a good sound system like the one in my car...this song is ear candy.....GREAT FREAKING SONG....A FUN SONG

DESERT DANCE blows me away....When I listen to this song I can envision myself out in the desert, underneath the stars, doing a peyote dance around a huge fire....Maybe searching or reaching for my own grand design...(Jim Morrison touched on this subject many times in his music)....The song Desert Dance has many layers that I am still discovering....I'm all for personal discovery and coming to terms with the world around me...what better way to get some release than this one...Keep reaching for that higher ground...Reaching...Reaching....

FALLING BEHIND has some great hooks and melodies in it. When the band touches on the Arab and Jew situation...it really hits home....Great song with lots of thought provoking lyrics....In today's politically correct world I doubt this one will be on the radio very much...I'm sure Queensryche knew that when they wrote it........I think radio should play the daylights out of this one...maybe some people will Open Their Eyes huh?

Great Divide....Hmmmm...Really starts getting deep here...I think the band had quite a revelation....This is one of my favorite songs....I had it all the time....All you really need in life is within you all the time...The current system we live in stifles most peoples free sprit with the daily struggles to make ends meet....The really important things in life tend to get forgotten about....Got to keep up with the status quo u know....American has the most diverse and free culture in the world but our laws and freedoms don't mean a thing without respect for one another...Very Powerful Song....Really makes you think....I thank Queensryche for saying that...Somebody needs to...

RHYTHM OF HOPE.....A Queensryche Jewel here....Your heart beat is a rhythm....Why not have a rhythm of hope to guide your life...Seems logical to me....That rich Ryche sound is back.

TRIBE....My favorite song right now.....THE FACE OF GOOODDDDD!!!!!!!
What a song....This one has it all...The Ryche rock hard here..I'm not worthy...I'm not worthy....
How can Geoff change his vocal range at will like he does here...Amazing....

BLOOD.....Haunting song.....

"......I get the political ties in the first part but who is this section about...hmmmmmmm

ART OF LIFE.....You think this would have been the last song on the disc....Like Madness, Sp00l, RSOMM, etc....
So the mystery of life is an evolving personal introspection through different experiences in life, an artistic approach to living, respect for one another and the constant struggle to reach for the unknown...The inner revolution calling.....The powers that be are so caught up in their need to sell us products (and their human greed) that we as a human race have stopped evolving on a personal and inner level to some extent. We focus more on a commercialized evolution to obtain nothing more than more material goods. How can we advance as a people........We are at a crossroads in civilization with our technology...Where will it take us.....Is it the Beast or the Savior?
We need to refocus our efforts on humanity and not some commercial GOD...Let's learn from one another.....

I guess that's why DOING FINE is the last

Tribe is a great album and Queensryche out did themselves.........
