Music Review: sparklingly clean, articulate

What stands out most about Chiu's playing is how clean he plays. He really makes sure that he plays everything correctly and in a well-defined manner.
I'm not sure whether these pieces were composed before their orchestral counterparts, but you can recognize the famous melodies.
Occassionally, one has to smile at the wit displayed in these pieces. The odd ending, the surprise chord.

I have many versions of this music for the piano, and this one ranks with the best. The farewell scene is a real test for making the heart pound faster with emotional fireworks. This is great fare. Highly recommended.
