Music Review: Roma music at its finest

This is an amazing and wonderful collection of music. This compact disc is a who's who of Roma music. It features hit songs of some of Romania's, Macedonia's, and Serbia's musicians. This disc is a tour of Eastern European musicians, and not so must the Rajasthani proto Romas or Spanish music. This collection is meant to dance to, for ethno-musicological research, and enjoyable music. The disc features Esma Redzepowa, Fanfare Ciocarlia, Kocani Orkestar, and even the legendary cimbalom player, Toni Iordache. The cd provides a nice survey of the music of these disenfranchised peoples. I would recommend this cd to any fan of Roma music including "Gypsy Caravan" discs and book, as well as the book that accompanies this cd to further understand this interesting group of people from Eastern Europe.
