Music Review: One of the best CD's of the decade...

Every song on the CD demonstrates the bands incredibly tight approach to their music, not to mention the degree of difficulty to play these songs is on a much higher curve than that of most rock bands you'll hear...
The Songs that are standouts on this CD are: Lazarus, the band's MOST downloaded song on the net...the softest song on the CD, but beautifully gripping. "Arriving Somewhere But Not Here" is frankly, a joy ride. "The Start of Something Beautiful" SHOULD go down as one of the musical masterpieces of the decade, I mean "Hall of Fame" type of credentials for that effort. "Open Car" is lyrically, playful and a GREAT song to drive to! (If you know what I mean!?) The harmonies are mesmerizing in Mellotron Scratch.
A Porcupine Tree specialty is their creative "breaks" within their songs...and the breaks on each and every one of the songs where they delve into that...are not only creative, but brilliant, especially in pulling it all back together into the main musical theme once again.
This CD is NOT to be missed by ANYONE who likes driving Rock N' Roll...if you're looking for the "Metal" demonesque vocal, this band does NOT feature that style in their singing...The band HAS played in Metal Festivals live before, for the purposes of exposing their music to a new audience primarily...
One more thing, I attended the concert for this tour as well, and PT is one of the most incredible bands I've ever seen perform live. Their attention to detail, especially in tonal quality is once again, on another level compared to many other bands that I've seen over the years...
