"Sedona-based harpist Peter Sterling taught himself to play the harp a few years back after a spiritual experience. This is an interesting fact to consider after you've heard him play - he has the confidence and technique of someone classically-trained. Shadow, Mist & Light, Sterling's first endeavor on Real Music, presents the harp in a variety of settings, which borrow from multi-cultural, jazz and relaxation music. The music is sweet, somewhat gentle and full of life, incorporating a variety of instruments like Latin-flavored percussion, violin, flute, saxophone, keyboards and guitar. Sterling's harp is always at the forefront, providing a lush flow of melody that all the other elements revolve around.
