Music Review: Pop with Perspective

Yes, yes I know what you're thinking, "Aren't those two dead yet?" Let me happily inform you that nothing could be further from the truth. With the advent of their latest missive, "Fundamental" Neil and Chris take on politics, romance, and the Bible with compelling lyrics and heavily orchestrated melodies as only these two can do.
Opening with a nice little paranoid ditty, "Psychological" the pair explores our daily little fears of unwelcome knocks at the door and abhorrent scents from whence we know not they come. Suddenly the ground swells, a demented carnival barker beckons us to come to "The Sodom and Gomorrah Show"! Sun, sex, sin, divine intervention, death and destruction. This synthetic blend of overwrought drum beats and spiraling strings combines with a tale of all things slothy and seedy to reference the nature of Gen-X with its emphasis on apathy and avarice. Biblical references to the city of sexual gluttony flow freely and remind us that a trip to Vegas or L.A. is as close as the next Jet Blue runway. Making a point of just how near the "Big Brother" theory is comes "Integral". A commentary concerning the human inventory now being taken by the powers that be to include our secret desires and constant whereabouts. George Bush certainly could have penned this one.
All in all, the album is beautifully written, entirely danceable and includes a couple of nice haunting ballads as well. So, get out your glow sticks and demand that your favorite D.J. include this in their play list.
