Music Review: The level of excellence you are expecting.

What is so cool about this release is that no one is reading this by accident. If you found Paul Brown, you did so by knowing who he is, who he has worked with, and why he is so great. You know what to expect, but that in no way implies that this disc is predictable. You just know that Paul Brown's output is only the best available, and this is exactly what we have on this CD. It is as good as you expect it to be. Buy it.One reviewer criticized the vocals, saying it sounded like Boz Scaggs. Like that's a bad thing? I would rather hear Boz than Van Morrison, so Paul's version of Moondance is fine with me. It is also restrained, not all out, which gives it an element of cool I like very much.
One star is deducted for the use of drum machines. Paul, I have "Shake It Up", and so do most people who are going to buy your disc. Support LIVE music. Use REAL drummers, it makes a difference. Aside from this, the quality of everything on this disc is the highest. Keep up the good work, Paul. And whoever is reading this review, encourage Mr. Brown, get "Up Front" and love life.
