Music Review: "Once" cd review

I was watching MTV late one night and the video for "Falling slowly" came on. Keep in mind I never heard the artists before nor did I see the movie.
I was so blown away I literally walked to my computer and bought the cd with that track. I am a musician and record producer. After I got the cd in the mail it stayed in my player for days and I rented the movie which just made me love the cd more. Its an excellent independent film with excellent music, beautiful vocals, and tons of passion. This album puts other singer songwriter albums to shame. Well well worth the money.

Outstanding!!
I watched this movie in a flight not knowing anything about it. From the moment it started till it ended, it had me completely engaged. I watched the movie again just for the music and the mood.
This soundtrack is one of the purest, heartfelt albums released this year. I am in love with Markéta Irglová's voice. "If you want me" showcases the beauty in her voice. Glen Hansard puts his heart and soul in his singing. Listen to "When Your Minds Made Up" and you will know what I mean. Every song is fantastic. A MUST BUY

If I could give it more stars I would. Went into see this movie that my husband had picked out. He said it was described as an unusual musical. That's all I knew. I loved this movie so much. Couldn't get the tunes out of my head. Went home right after the movie and bought the CD on Amazon. Went to see it again and brought my brother-in-law and his wife to see it. They loved it. I had already bought two CD's (planned on giving them one) even before they had seen the movie. This is one of those inexpensive movies that become an incredible hit. As a music lover from the age of rock and roll to today's eclectic range, I found this soundtrack both lyrically and musically captivating, soothing, original, and very, very real...The simple piano background and the unique vocal quality of the lead singers Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova can be listened to over and over...especially the first two songs. I play it every day and never tire of the beauty and simplicity of the words and the music. Don't miss the DVD "Once", either. My favorite movie of 2007, by far.....and emotional,timeless, musical journey....Music Review: I love this music!

The story in this movie is entertaining though if you don't like music, don't bother.
But I do love music and have been searching for a reason to sing again. The music on this is exactly what i needed to hear. It's almost angelic to me; the harmonies are so good. The words spark my intellect. Glen's vocals are absolutely strong and solid. He makes me want to sing out as much as listening to Marketa does.
Thanks to everyone who made their albums possible! I am a new supporter of this groups work and will do my best to share the experience.
