Music Review: Still a Great Collection of Covers

Reading many of these negative reviews for this album, I thought I'd post my own.
I've owned this album for about 12 or 13 years, and have loved it since I was a kid, a kid who loved Disney, and a kid who is also a musician. One review said it's falsely advertised, well, read the description as well as who sings the songs; they are obviously not the originals. Another review said they couldn't believe the Tim Curry track was in the CD since he mocked the song he covered; this guy didn't get the humor and admittedly only bought the CD for the one Pointer Sister's song.
This CD is a very 90's pop cover CD of some great Disney music. Kind of like a precursor to the Disney Mania CD's, but with actually talented artists that can hold their own, play their instruments, and probably didn't need crazy amounts of auto-tune.
Among the tracks, these are some that I had on repeat alot:
the very humorous Tim Curry version of 'Davy Crockett', complete with Curry's funny commentary in between lyrics of the song. How can you not love anything Tim Curry's voice is in? Whoever thought of this track was genius.
The Bare Naked Ladies awesome version of 'Grim Grinning Ghosts' from the Haunted Mansion, which is very upbeat and will get your fingers snapping with it's jazzy rhythm and clever arrangement.
The Lion King medley with 'Circle of Life' and 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' is very soulful with powerful gospel moments that I have always found haunting.
The Spectromagic medley will please any jazz-piano lover in the instrumental played by David Benoit. From the light and mellow first notes to the majestic end, the arrangement makes the heart swell with memories of nights in the Magic Kingdom.
Rounding out my favs are the fantastic vocals of Olivia Newton John singing 'Part of Your World' from the Little Mermaid and the song that will give you chills and get you misty eyed, Brian McNight's version of 'Remember the Magic', one of the great Disney Park Themes.
After all that, you even get a bonus track from one of the Epcot night-time lagoon shows with some great world music clips.
Of the now many Disney cover albums, like the Disney Country collection and all the Disney Mania CD's, I think this is still one of the best. A good combination of Disney, Jazz, pop, and soul.
