Music reviews of Kill Bill: Volume 1

Music Review: Great O.S.T.!!! 4.5 Star!
Rating: 5 Stars

I really love Kill Bill,
A groundbreaking and kinda unique movie!

And Those music/songs play in Movie is Bright too!
Plus The Music is worked by RZA[A rapper/produce from a Rap Group called Wu Tang Clan]
This Guy is one of my favorite Rap Music Producer!
So, there's have no reason for me to not purchase it!

I Still remember I have bought A.I. Soundtrack!
But that's not too good,
The movie is excellent and those music is nice IN THE MOVIE,
But It seems losing the soul when you only hear the sound without those touching screen....

But KILL BILL Soundtrack have NO this problem,
It's good to hear with the flim and still very Great to LISTEN!

Here's the songs review:

1: Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) - Nancy Sinatra
This soundtrack got a Great song to start! A very sorrow song, with Great Effected-Guitar, Those Lyrics is so good too! But it's too short.... so you need to replay! 5/5

2: That Certain Female - Charlie Feathers
Some old fashioned song, smething like Elvis Presley, Not bad! Although I'm not too into this stuff but this one is really good to listen! 4.5/5

3: The Grand Duel (Parte Prima) - Luis Bacalov
WOW! Another GREAT song, The first part of the song sounds quite Japanese, but then turn into a Heart-melting symphony with a good Diva! 5/5

4: Twisted Nerve - Bernard Herrmann
This song is simply amazing, a Killer Idea!
Use the same melody to create two mood, Fantasy and Stress!!! 5/5

5: Queen of The Crime Council
A speak of Lucy Liu from movie, I really like this part of movie! no marks for speaking track but I don't need to skip this one!

6: Ode To Oren Ishii - The RZA
A Very Stress background music with RZA keep talking, Nothing special, not what I except for a Rza Solo track! 3/5

7: Run Fay Run - Isaac Hayes
Very Good beats with some nice horn! Good one! 4/5

8: Green Hornet - Al Hirt
One more Great song for you! Enjoy it! 5/5

9: Battle without Honor or Humanity - Tomoyasu Hotei
A Hot song! Hard Banging beats, the most exciting song in this album! 4/5

10: Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - Santa Esmeralda
A Latin Pop song, Sounds like Ricky Martin did! I'm not into it! And This song is about 10 mins.! Ok, just skip it! 3/5

11: Woo Hoo - The 5.6.7.8's
I really love this Girls Band, they have play few songs in the movie, Actually I expect this soundtrack will contain more song from them! This one is Nice but very short!!! 4.5/5

12: Crane / White Lightning - The RZA / Charles Bernstein
Two song stick together, The RZA one is straight Techno song, it's his "Bobby Digital" Style! Another Part [White Lightning] is a very stress song! 4/5

13: The Flower of Carnage - Meiko Kaji
A very Old-Fashioned Japanese Song! Very Good to listen to! I always love these kind of old Japanese song! 5/5

14: The Lonely Shepherd - Zamfir
One of the best in this album! Make your blood boiling!!! 5/5

15: You're My Wicked Life -
Just Some speak from Movie!

16: Ironside - Quincy Jones
That Sound when everytime Uma saw her enemy! It's very nice but just have 16 seconds. If it's a regular sound, this one must Kill! 4/5

17: Super 16 - NEU!

Description of Kill Bill: Volume 1

CD > POPULAR MUSIC > MOVIE SOUNDTRACK
Fashion be damned: Pop culture is just one big Hometown Buffet for writer-director Quentin Tarantino. Nowhere has that sensibility been more apparent than on his hand-picked soundtrack choices, and this oft tongue-in-cheek tale of a female assassin's revenge (his first film in six years) is no exception. With dizzy, almost palpable glee, Tarantino evokes the international hall-of-mirrors influences that energize martial arts films and much of Asian pop culture in general. Thus the hip-hop of Wu Tang's RZA (who, along with composer Charles Bernstein, concocts what passes for the score's traditional cues) somehow finds itself but one ingredient in a heady souffle that includes vintage TV and film cue rarities (Al Hirt's main title from The Green Hornet, Bernard Herrmann's haunting theme from Twisted Nerve, the spaghetti western melodrama of Luis Bacalov's "The Grand Duel," Isaac Hayes in full blaxploitation mode on "Run Fay Run"), Charlie Feathers' vintage rockabilly and a pan-kitsch sensibility that encompasses Zamfir, Nancy Sinatra's angst-in-the-pants take "Bang, Bang" and Santa Esmeralda's disco-era workout of "Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood." Tarantino's contemporary Japan-Pop selections are no less giddy, ranging from Meiko Kaji's sultry "Flower of Carnage" to The 5.6.7.8's loopy "Woo Hoo." It's everything we've come to expect from a Tarantino score (including dialog excerpts and a few sound fx stingers), with a madcap trip around the pop music world thrown in for good measure. -- Jerry McCulley
