Music Review: true greatness.....

I (and the rest of us) should probably hesitate to try to review anything by Nick Cave, for we are mere mortals and not worthy of the task .....
ok. is this that good? Listen to this thing. Ironically, despite the first few seconds complete unmusicality, it's as good as music gets. Simple as that to review. Beyond that would take a dozen pages. The power and the beauty mixed and intermingled perfectly together, of what an artistic statement can be made to be and realised. Aw heck, let's mention just a couple of things that are (in their weirdly brilliant way, standard Cave/BadSeeds). Alright, there's the funniest line in sarcasm in the history of Rock Music: "I went to bed last night and my moral code got jammed; I woke up this morning with a Frappucino in my hand. Oh yeahhh...." There you go, 21st century culture. Is that you?
Oh, what the hell, the world is the world, and art is merely art. It's not as important as war, cant, hypocrisy, etc ... But darling, these things, are not good for me ....
Ah well ....
Just lie down by the river, with the war between the water and the bridge, and let it just Carry you ... Away ....
If you're really lucky, maybe the choir will join in right about then.....
If not, then pass me that lovely little gun, my dear, my darling one. Because the cleaners are coming one by one, and you realllly don't even wanna let them start ...

Nick Cave changed the sound of music as part of the seminal goth-punks The Birthday Party. With his band of 20 years, The Bad Seeds, his solo work has veered between poignant gospel-inflected ballads and the steamy thud of backwater blues and country. This double album showcases both these sides of Cave's songwriting, with The Bad Seeds rising to fine, even funky, form.
