Music Review: Barboteu at his very best (with lots of vibrato)

Georges Barboteu was one of the most technically and musically gifted horn players ever recorded. He can move you with his wonderful phrasing and ample vibrato. The vibrato may be too amply for some, but if you are not die-hard no-vibrato horn fans, this CD is for you.
If you want to hear more of Georges Barboteu, you can hear him in French Baroque fanfares and suites:
Simphonies & Fanfares
Another well-known horn player from France from the older days, Pierre del Vascovo, is also featured here. I find him not quite at the (very high) level of Barboteu, but he is a very good player on his own right. He can be heard on Schumann's Adagio and Allegro on this Erato reissue:

I am partial to the French school with ample vibrato and am not as crazy for the modern generation of French players, which are featured on the Concertstucke here.
