Music Review: IMO the best mainstream soul CD out now

Once I hear his single "So Sick" I was sold on his voice and songwriting. But to my disappointment, as with most mainstream artist, I didn't like his first two albums because of the hip hop feel or soap operaish topics. While I didn't like those complete albums I always had favorite songs from them. But this album, Year of the Gentleman, is exactly what I was looking for when I hear Ne-Yo for the first time. Smooth voice and excellent songwriting over respectful quality mature topics. I like the whole album.Music Review: Year of The Gentleman

I am a fan of Ne-YO. I have both of his previous works, not boot-legged either. However, I am going to pass on this CD. My 3 favorite tracks are Miss Independent, Closer, and Single. If a CD has about 12 songs, and a fan can't enjoy up to half or more songs on a CD, then it's not worth the money.
Ne-YO!!!!!!!lose the Michael Jackson style, and better luck next time.
I appreciate you as an artist, but I just am not feeling the entire CD.
Music Review: Finally - a quality, updated R&B sound

From beginnning to end, this is quality R&B -- some upbeat, some soothing, some thoughtful, some nostalic, but all worth listening to. In general, I find it difficult to find a male vocalist who delivers melodically, whose lyrics you can understand and play around small children, and whose lyrics, tempo, and sound are relevant to many, varied emotions and moods. Ne-Yo delivers on all counts and should be counted as one of our top, lasting performers.Music Review: Amazing!!

OMG! From the moment I first popped this CD into my player I loved it. Normally when I purchase a CD there will be only two songs that in my opinion would make the cut but Ne-Yo's CD?! EVERY cut is a banger! I absolutely love this CD !! From the ballads to the beat bangers he did not dissappoint on this project. Variations of style and tempos loved every last one. My only regret is not copping this CD the day of the release!!..A Definite Must Have!!Music Review: Where is Neyo??

This cd definitely was not worth me rushing to buy. The Neyo that I've grown to love is clearly not present on this album. Not that the songs are bad, it just feels like he went into a completey different direction. I guess he gave away all his good songs to other people. If you're looking for the Neyo that gave us Mirror or When you're mad he's not on this album. Save your money and time and just listen to his old stuff.
