Music Review: GO NATASHA!! SHE HAS BECOME ONE OF MY NEW FAVORITES

Wow. I heard "Pocket of Sunshine" on a commercial and thought it was Christina Aguilera, but I was wrong. I got this CD as a gift for my birthday, that I asked for - and what a gift. Thank you very much to the person who gave it to me. : ) I love you! I put it on after going to Rhapsody listening to the remix and thought I hope this CD is good. Man, it's great! Her vocals have a great depth, she reminds me very much of Christina Aguilera with shades of P!nk, Beyonce and Mariah. She is a very earthly vocalist and the remixes are beyond phenomenal. "Angel" the remix, is so commercial but so likable, you have to be a sour puss not to enjoy this mix. The whole album radiates positivity and love energy - what the world most definitely needs. "Pocket Of Sunshine" has become a personal anthem, because I know I am lucky to have such good people in my life, angels - no less. People can be so cruel, unloving, judgemental and evil. This CD reflects the best of people, it's an uplifting CD full of love and light. The lyrics are so positive and most importantly Natasha connects deeper than any singer I've heard. She has so much SOUL. It has a R&B flavor with a little reggae flavor on a couple tracks. Plus the deluxe edition comes with a DVD - she just seems so happy. Listen to the song "Happy". And a great song is the lead "Put Your Arms Around Me". The lyrics of this album definitely should be paid attention to. This girl has a very very strong career ahead of her, I saw her on New Years Rockin' Eve curious to see if she'd sing good live. NO QUESTION - she is great on record and live!! Much respect - maybe one day in my dreams we can work together for I'm a musician myself. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. The best tracks on the CD are the last three remixes. Phenomenal - you have to be dead not to tap your foot and smile. You are a life giver. God bless you and everyone who buys this CD will feel a blessing has entered their lives, play this CD about 5 times and you will see this CD will become an infection you can't shake. On Pocketful of Sunshine, Natasha Bedingfield sounds like Joss Stone only bouncier. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, the brightness and buoyancy of this record will keep it spinning long after CDs that shoot for hipster credibility--with funked-up bells and fancy production whistles--have been deposited back into their jewel cases for all eternity. Check it out: "Love Like This," with Sean Kingston, puts its hands in the air for puppy love--the kind that'll bring you back to your "middle school kiss"--and a couple of other songs follow the youth-themed suit. "Backyard" time-travels to an idyllic childhood, while "Freckles" fleshes out, for the benefit of the insecure, the beauty in imperfections. Elsewhere, Bedingfield is her indomitably upbeat self. Opener "Put Your Arms Around Me" reeks of reassurance and tenderness. "Happy" implores would-be gloom-and-doomers to snap out of it, and while the title track doesn't wander all that far lyrically, it benefits from a chanted verse brimmed in (positive) attitude.
