Music Review: Don't be so quick to give this one a thumbs down!

Not having seen the play itself, I'd like to thanks to this soundtrack. I got enough out of it to know that the play itself would appeal to any who love to read the likes of Wendy Wasserstein and other feminist writers. I was laughing at some of the songs on here. I wish there was a video of the play itself available, because I promise you I'd get it and I wouldn't care if it was the original cast or this one! This is good music and some of the songs will leave you laughing if you are into this genre. I was younger when this was first released and that is why I never got to see this play...I got this CD simply because I had heard what the play was originally about in the first place. I can honestly say it deserved 5 stars--not the low ratings it keeps getting because others keep comparing it to the original instead of letting this CD stand on it's own merit while listeners keep an open mind. I judged it on the music and how it was carried through and that is all.
