Music Review: Really lovin it !!! ( I give it 4.5 stars for it)

Like to say I'm really lovin' and feelin' this album! It shows a new way to show himself approval in the R&B/Neo-Soul world. I admire Musiq when he puts out great hits that talks from the heart. That's why I'm a huge Musiq fan. This is definitely the ones I may keep 'round a long time 'cause nobody who loves music or aren't real addicted to R&B must'nt live w/o this.
I thank God that he's keepin it real and always will in the near future. I know I told everybody I play the trumpet. Maybe 1 day I work with him. But God told me he's has something plan 4 me right there. He saying "Henry u're not ready for a music career just yet. Love what you're doing but they're a lot of things you have to sacrifice in life other than music." Y'know that's something I'm awaiting now when I go to college or else wait until I done my education and everything.
Anyway, long period short, I give the album 4.5 stars even tho I never had any problems with it or whatever. I still believe it's a good CD. Here are my favorites from the album: Soulstar, Womanopoly, Forthenight, Youloveme, Babymother, Give More Love/Leave A Message, The Reason, Whoknows, just to name a few songs.
HERE'S THE WHOLE TRACKLIST:
1. Soulstar feat. DJ Atkive and Carol Riddick (4.5/5)- This is a great start from the album when he has the DJ do the work and the lady start the singin and stuff and then he'll let right here. It features a sample of the Spinners (whom I love the most)"I Found Love (When I Love You)".
2. Youloveme (5/5)- Excellent cut nuthin much to say 'bout that but it has soul and upbeat 2 it. Really my favorite. It features a sample of Henry Mancini's "Love Story" by the Living Strings Plays Henry Mancini.
3. Womanopoly (5/5)- Currently reminds me of the late Aaliyah while growing apart of this one. This is romantic when he tells-it-all right here to the ladies.
4. Forthenight (5/5)- I know everybody knows this songs 'cause it takes you back from the '80s and now. This is where when Walkmans, CDs, VCRs, etc. were brought here in the pop culture of '80s where I was born. I would say 1984 perhaps.
5. Infatueighties (1/5)- Don't like this one 'cause its completely wearin me out. I thought it was good but y'know is was kinda wack I think it needs to be takin' off the list or sumthin.
6. Whoknows (5/5)- Reminds me of Prince, D'Angelo and/or Maxwell I listen to in that era or sumthin. It shows a brief message when he did the video of it this past year when he tries to make a relationship with a woman whom he love or whom he loves to marry or go out with. Love the horns and the melody that's on that which is nice.
7. Babymother (4/5)- Real slow jam w/ much vibe to it that takes u back into a Barry White song or whoever you feel interest. I think this song talks about reality, sense of humor, life, and going thru a relationship with somebody u trust. It features a sample of Tom Scott's "Shadows".
8. Missyou (3/5)- Don't know much about this song but I heard the Rolling Stones did it 1st before Musiq put it out from the original so this is sumthin I don't spend much time listening oftenly but it's cool but it takes u back where the RS did that record in '78.
9. Momentinlife feat. Kindred the Family Soul and Cee-Lo (4.5/5)- Real upbeat song that has a positive image w/o much sadness or any upfeel to it or sumthin. I think it was wonderful when he did it w/ my group Kindred the Family Soul and my man Cee-Lo. I think they should get 2gether and do an album 1 day.
10. The Reason (5/5)- This helps takes me back from the hits of Marvin Gaye or Outkast's "The Way You Move" or R. Kelly's double-platinum CD "Chocolate Factory" whether is a reincarnation or beginning of Marvin's legacy of Soul and R&B. This what I use to dance with when I'm gettin down and stuff sayin I'm wanna party. Y'know what I mean?
11. Don't Stop feat. Bilal (5/5)- Looks similar to the classic song "Find A Way" from Dwele that has the same style or the same rhythm, notes or whatever that has a kick 2 it. Makes u funky sometimes when u're into grooves from back in the '70s and stuff, u would notice a difference like when George Clinton, The JB's, Kool and the Gang, Earth, Wind and Fire and the rest of dem cats put out big hits from that era.
12. Whereareyougoing (5/5)- I'm not gonna say much about this but everybody know what a song really is.
13. Romancipation (5/5)- Same.
14. Give More Love/Leave a Message (5/5)- This is really a bangin' classic or I mean it's a bangin' song takes me back from the days I listen to Grover Washington, Jr. and The Crusaders. I know he used to put more stuff like this than he did w/ his previous albums. Now on the last song "Leave a Message" it reminds you of some Sade, Billy Thomas or some Latin jazz or whateva you're listening to helps u realize that there's more than just one genre or one song.
Anyway, I love the CD, love for more hits and albums from him, I would love to work with him one day 'cause everybody knows I play the trumpet. SOULSTAR is a remarkable album with blends of R&B, pop, funk, disco, funk, Latin, rock, and a lil jazz of course to feel the upline. A must-have.
