Music Reviews of Music and Lyrics

Music Review: Came for the Cuteness, Stayed for the Chemistry
Rating: 5 Stars

I came looking just for a pleasant romantic comedy. It is more than pleasant, it is loving and kind and inspiring. It delivers fireworks and teary eyes of joy. It started off pleasant enough and then moved into many more levels. What a wonderful way to spend some time! Good music, good lyrics, good acting, good script adds up to a great movie!

Music Review: Bring back the '80s!
Rating: 5 Stars

The songs on these albums are so contagious that it gets stuck in your head for days! "Pop" is one of my favorite songs in here, and it's very '80s. In fact, all the songs with Hugh Grant in it are such a treat...who knew he could sing? I recommend getting this album because it's one of the original soundtracks out there in the market.

Music Review: Great soundtrack!!
Rating: 5 Stars

With their tongues placed firmly in their cheeks, the songwriters have captured the techno-silliness that was the 80's music scene. I am a product of that music and I love the inside jokes that abound!! I also enjoyed the skewering they give current pop music with the over-the-top sexual lyrics and pseudo-Buddhism that is so popular.

Music Review: Wham pop that fades fast
Rating: 3 Stars

The opening track Pop! Goes My Heart is the album's highlight as is the corresponding music video that opens the movie. Meaningless Kiss is another Wham-like jingle that amuses though the rest of the album consists of weaker material. Some of the lyrics are very 'Spinal Tap'-like, which is great if you like that style of humour.

Music Review: These songs could be hits!
Rating: 5 Stars

First off, the movie was great. And I'll definately be picking it up once it's released on DVD.

Regarding the music - The songs from the movie could easily be hits on their own. I could definately imagine a song like "POP Goes My Heart" being released in 1984. "Back Into Love" should be a hit song today.
