Music Reviews of Saints of Los Angeles

Music Review: Pleasantly surprized........
Rating: 4 Stars

Been a fan of Motley since the beginning,I know we will never get another Shout at the Devil, but what 80's band can match their early years? Not too many.
That being said I think this is a very good release for Motley Crue.IMO there aren't too many throw-away songs on S.O.L.A. .Yeah it is kinda a bummer that they used outside writers on this release, but the music is solid.
I really enjoy Just Another Psycho,Animal in Me,Goin' Out Swingin'.This effort by the Crue should do reasonably well, even with all the people who will download it via peer to peer networks.
And hey,it is refreshing that we get something NEW not a greatest hits package, like most bands are prone to do.So enjoy Saints of Los Angeles,I think it is well worth the 10 bucks!!!

Music Review: Not very good
Rating: 4 Stars

Ok I have had been listening to this CD off and on for 6 or 7 weeks now and I gotta say it is not very good.

The good includes Face Down in the Dirt, What's It Going To Take, Saint of Los Angeles, Mother F'er of the Year and The Animal In Me. These songs are good, not great but good. They are your typical Motley Crue songs but sound like Side B releases from Dr Feelgood.

The bad includes everything else. This CD is mostly filler. White Trash Circus, Chicks = Trouble and so on is trash and sounds like it wouldn't have made the Theatre of Pain album at the time.

There's truly a reason why this album had a strong first week and then basically fell off the charts, it's not very good.

Music Review: Awesome CD from the Crue!
Rating: 5 Stars

I got this for Christmas (Thankyou Amazon for offering it for only 9.99 then!) and even though I may be biased (I'm a huge fan), this CD is awesome! I enjoyed thier last two singles they had with the Carnival of Sins tour but to me, this is MUCH better....feels like the old crue with modern beats. My favorites are White Trash Circus and Down at the Whiskey. Oh and the lyric from Going out Swinging, "If you have the balls to fight then come on bring it..." cracks me up so bad bc it reminds me of the typical "always looking for a fight" Crue. This is a classic and old fans will really enjoy it while I'm hoping new fans will come on board. I'll be in Birmingham on the 22nd to see them on tour. CAN'T WAIT!!!

Music Review: Dust collector, Easily forgetable,Words suck!
Rating: 2 Stars

I love these guys. I always have and always will,But they suck now and the new disc has 2 or 3 stand out cuts and thats it. It's not near as good as there first 4 great Cds in the 80s,You know what they say,All good bands come to an end. Thanks guys for the run. It was a great ride for you and me!I Saw the band 6 or 7 times in the 80s and 90s.It doesn't get much better then that. They delived 3 or 4 times out of thoughs shows not bad considering how messed up they were back then. The trill is gone.Crue is for the newbees now. The ones that have not seen them yet. Not for the fans that lived it,Fu ked it and drank with them every step of the way in the old days.Nothing exseeded like excess back then.

Music Review: Best Since Dr. Feelgood!
Rating: 4 Stars

This is a very solid new effort from the re-energized Motley Crue. This new cd, featuring all four original members (Neil, Lee, Sixx, and Mars)is an honest straightforward rock album with solid catchy grooves. Vince Neil's voice has truly never sounded better, and the band has terrific chemistry on this sleazy expose of LA rock life. Saints of Los Angeles, and White Trash Circus are my picks for standout tracks, but there really isn't a bad track on the album. This is without question the best, most true to form cd the band has released since Dr. Feelgood. Fans of early Crue will not be disappoiinted, and the band sounds fresh enough for modern rock fans as well.
