Music Review: Great Groovin' Bebop Jazz

My brief review will focus on the amazing sound quality of the Rudy Van Gelder (RVG) 24-bit remastering of this highly-lauded Miles Davis mid-50's record. (Read the other nice reviews for additional info about the significance of the personnel and the music.)
If you own an earlier release of this record, you need to spend about $10 to experience RVG's magic. The sound is that good. If you are exploring bebop jazz, be forewarned: this will likely be the beginning of a love affair with bebop, if not Miles (this is my favorite period of his multiple endeavors in jazz). And this recording is in my top 5 favorite bebop records.
Simply a great, bluesy, swinging jazz record with all the bebop traits - great overall themes and followed by individual statements by the best musicians playing only acoustic instruments: horns (trumpet, sax), piano, bass, and drums. Jazz is the best music, and this is a fantastic document of its best period.
