Music Review: Inconvenient & Poorly Organized

I cannot argue with the quality of the music (clearly worthy of 5 star designation), but I am less than satisfied with the box set. First of all, it's hard to slip the metalic case off the box set & booklet to get at the disks. Secondly, the disks are hard to slip out of the sleeves they're in. Lastly, I dislike the song sequencing. I am left listening to too many versions of the same song without variety. I would have preferred for the 3 classic albums with Coltrane (Round About Midnight, Milestones, and Kind of Blue) to have appeared with their original sequencing, and then subsequent discs to contain all the alternate takes. The Newport Jazz performance is historically monumental, and is an enjoyable listen. The Plaza Hotel performace (recently released as a stand-alone disk) is probably a better performance, but Miles is turned away from the microphone (and the audience), and as a result, the recording is far from perfect.
Please don't get me wrong...the music on these disks is some of the best created in the 20th century, but I must go with 4 stars based on the grievances above.
