Music Review: Simply incredible

This is an AMAZING cd from the master. It's a great selection of pieces, and Williams delivers immaculate, incisive and definitive renditions of every single one. His control of tone and dynamics, especially on Koyunbaba, Stele (with their multiple parts and layered voicings), and Ductia (with it's combination of plucked notes and harmonics) is breathtaking. His Smallman guitar produces every sound from the delicate Gnossienne of Satie to the vigorous rhythms of the Saltarello with a warmth and fullness not often heard. From a guitarist who consistantly releases the definitive versions of everything from Bach to Barrios, this recording is a standout among standouts and a must-have for anyone interested in classical guitar and it's place in serious world music.
