mike said on his website he would be in this band sometime during 2002.at that point i was thrilled he is my fav skater now singing in a band.i was hoping for a old hardcore punk cd since his fav. bands seems to be black flag and bad brains.well when i got this i was shocked it sounds so much like black flag.which too me makes it 10 times better.the lyrics,music,and intensity is at its very high.even on his newest dvd mike v's greatest hits the rats cover police story by black flag. anyway if you like punk get this now it is awsome.Music Review: A solid collection of hardcore music

Mike Vallely shouts words of inspiration and perseverance over the blistering rhythms and guitar riffs of The Rats. Make no mistake about it--this is hardcore punk rock in the vein of Black Flag and Minor Threat. Likewise, Mike doesn't pull his punches, calling out the meatheaded and inebriated, the ignorant and the myopic. Yet, through it all, this disc celebrates youthfulness and innocence.Music Review: really sweet

...i didnt even know mike vallely was this into music. when i got home and started listing to this i was really surprised. this iz a great old-school vibed hardcore punk cd. it doesnt even sound like him that much. i think this iz a very well put together song and every song iz very good. i dont have to skip through any of them...
