Music Review: Mike Oldfield's contractual obligation album

Apparently there are some people who don't realize that this was a contractual obligation album, intended to be bad and/or satirical.
First clue is that the album is credited to "Michael Oldfield" rather than "Mike Oldfield", much as movie directors use the name "Alan Smithee".
Second clue is the cover art. Virgin Records boss Richard Branson notoriously wanted Oldfield's first album, "Tubular Bells", to be called "Breakfast in Bed", and to have cover art of a cracked boiled egg with blood dripping out. On this cover, the blood is gold, representing money bled from the artist by the record label, and doves are seen escaping to freedom.
Third clue is the fact that Oldfield himself performs the vocals for all the songs. He never wanted to record vocals, feeling that his voice wasn't good enough; the first demands for vocals resulted in the Piltdown Man section of "Tubular Bells", but the pressure from Virgin never stopped.
Final clue is the last track, which depicts gibbering monkeys in the balcony (representing record label exec interference), as the music breaks apart in a mess of trendy sound effects and silly noises and is ruined.
