Music Review: Mother Earth 1st Album -- MB played lead on one song

Mother Earth played an eclectic mix of country, blues, and other American music. On 1st album they did cut "Mother Earth" and the lead guitar is MB, though he was listed with another name, I think Makal Blumfeld or some such. It is a blues classic, both for his playing and the whole cut. The leader singer was Tracy Nelson who has some limited fame -- her seminal cut was/is "Down So Low" -- okay, maybe that's not the title -- written when she was 17 -- a real tearjerker about heartbreak. Michael also played lead on another album by another group, similarly hidden under an assumed name (It was contractual issues). In 1965 to 1967 Paul Butterfield Band was far bigger than Airplane, Dead, Quicksilver, etc, and some of their cuts are absolute gems. If you look back at old Bill Graham Fillmore (before Fillmore West) and Winterland posters (which were given out for free) you will see the Paul Butterfield band as the headliners on many shows.
