Music Review: Not complete, but still powerful

I love melodies first, then the lyrics. Maybe I am little backwards, but I want the music to move me first. The lyrics should match the musical intensity or softness of the music. With that said, I was moved by the dark musical shadings of "Where You Lead Me"...which sounds an awful lot like the downbeat of Amy Grant's very public dark searching period, "Behind The Eyes". Steven Curtis Chapman can be heard on "Everything Possible"...even Vertical Horizion on a couple of cuts. I really appreciated the power pop of "In The Blink of An Eye". Again, the music moved me first, then I found little nuggets of lyrical honesty: "How can I further your Kingdom, when I'm so wrapped up in mine?" Excellent!

The power ballads shine and carry an honesty I rarely feel anymore from the 'processed' bands. "Here With Me" and "Unaware" should get major airplay on the mainstream Christian stations. One song might make another jump into the 'mainstream': "Homesick" is a powerful song that can play to anyone that has lost a loved one.

The last half of "Undone" is not as powerful as the first(thus the three stars vs. four), but is not grating.

Mercy Me has the gift of power hooks and melodies. Here's hoping this formula doesn't get Undone.
