Music Review: Welcome Back, Melba!!!

Alternating collaborative efforts between singer Shirley Murdock (also check out that artist's gospel outing) and, unknown to this writer, Herb Middleton, Ms. Moore swoops, soars and shines on numbers such as "Call Me" "Lamb of God" and the invigoratingly funky "Champions." Ms. Murdock also lends a very nice vocal duet on the afforementioned "Call" as well as prominent backing on several others. Not a bad song in the collection. Fans may also try to seek out her demo/promo recording which includes 3 songs not on this collection (they're good too) as well as alternate takes on a couple of others.

I heartily recommend this not only for the fans, but for all those whose love of the Gospel is as much a commitment as is evidenced by Ms. Moore's beautiful release.
